Aug 16, 2026    Pastor Stephen Garman

Drawing from John 1:1-18, this sermon establishes that the most important decision any person will ever make is what they decide about Jesus Christ. The pastor walks through the prologue of John's Gospel to show that Jesus is not part of creation but is the eternal Creator who took on human flesh and dwelt among humanity. The incarnation is presented as a foundational, non-negotiable doctrine of the Christian faith. Through careful examination of the text, the sermon demonstrates that Jesus surpasses every figure who has ever been inappropriately elevated in His place, including John the Baptist, Moses, and the founders of false religions. The fullness of God's grace and truth are found exclusively in Christ, and from that fullness believers receive continuous, unending grace. The sermon closes with a call to trust in the kindness, reliability, and trustworthiness of Jesus, both for salvation and for the daily life of the believer.
